Check out this simple tweak to increase your broadband speed.Before applying following Tweak I suggest you to go to http://www.speedtest.net/ and check your broadband speed and then apply this tweak and once again check the broadband speed at http://www.speedtest.net/ and check out the results yourself.I am sure you will be surprised.It worked for Me,got my Download speed increased by approx 128kbps and Upload speed by approx 160kbps.So just check out this tweak and surf web at a Great Speed. A Simple Tweak (XP Pro only) which will increase your Broadband Speed. By default (even with QoS disabled) Windows XP reserves up to 20 percent of your connections bandwidth. To override this reserve perform following steps. Make sure you Log on as Administrator, not as a user with Administrator privileges.
- Click on Start Button.
- Select Run From Start Menu.
- Type gpedit.msc
- Expand the [Administrative Templates] branch
- Then Expand the [Network] branch
- Highlight(Select by Single Click) [QoS Packet Scheduler]
- Double-click [Limit Reservable Bandwidth] (Available in Right Side Panel)
- Check(Select By Single Click on it) [Enabled]
- Change [Bandwidth limit %] to 0 %
- Click [OK] Button.
